The city is generally referred to as Kochi within the district Ernakulam. Kochi can be interchanged with Cochin, which was the old English name for the main town. There is also a distinct area known as Fort Cochin, which is a well-known, historic neighborhood and popular holiday destination.
You can fly to Cochin International Airport (COK) which is approximately 1 hr by car to our destination. If you let us know your flight number and arrival time in advance we will arrange for a driver to collect you at no additional cost. Please plan your flight to arrive on 12th or 13th January, so that there is enough time for you to settle in and acclimatise before the workshops begin.
You can also fly to other airports such as Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) within Kerala. From there, you will be able to travel by train to Kochi, Ernakulam.
There are two train stations in the Ernakulam area: Ernakulam Junction (Ernakulam South) and Ernakulam Town (Ernakulam North). Fort Cochin is accessible from either train station by auto rickshaw.
These are the most popular mode of transport in India. They are for-hire 3-wheelers. Rickshaws are everywhere and easily flagged down. Tip: always set the price for the trip with the driver before beginning a journey. The typical rate from train station to Ft. Cochin is 200 rupees.
